Fulfillment
Collection models, service area and collection locations.
What Fulfillment owns
- Collection models: how a specimen is collected for a given offering.
- Collection method: what an item supports; collection mode: an enabled operational path; adapter or provider: the configured party that fulfills that mode.
- Service area: where an order can be accepted.
- Collection locations: the sites available for collection, including any externally serviceable locations exposed to partners.
Serviceability answers a single operational question before an order exists: can this location and this test actually be fulfilled?
Important
Mobile collection availability and provider identity are configuration-specific. No mobile provider is universal, and a provider name is not inferred when the consumer contract does not expose it.
Effective methods and regions
- Laboratory-level methods and service areas are the defaults for every test.
- A test can only narrow them: a method disabled for the laboratory cannot be re-enabled on a test, and test regions narrow method regions.
- Self-collection kits apply only when enabled at the laboratory and explicitly selected for the individual test; an empty test override inherits other enabled methods, but never kits.
- Serviceability uses these effective methods and regions.
- Fulfillment Production readiness is stricter than completing the onboarding step.
