Program access

Why access is granted per program, and what a grant permits.

On this page

Grants

Access is granted per program. A client with a grant may read that program, its catalog and requirements, and may create and read orders inside it, subject to its scopes.

  • No grant means the program is not visible to the client at all.
  • A grant is workspace- and environment-specific.
  • Revoking a grant removes the client's access to that program going forward.

Two independent Programs, one installation

Two separately authorized buyer Programs may use one laboratory installation while keeping client keys, native catalog, order attribution and result/webhook permissions isolated. Program name or connector identity alone grants nothing; all scopes must remain current.

Reference laboratory engineering boundary

Reference/send-out is source-only and unavailable in Sandbox or Production. Existing integration, buyer, publication and clinical authorities remain unchanged; a directory listing or relationship never authorizes a referral.

Programs, consumer health and patient identity

One person may be served by several Programs at the same laboratory. Solia keeps one canonical patient record, but each Program's client sees only its own subjects, orders and released results. Your external_subject_id is scoped to your client and environment; an unknown subject returns 422 subject_unknown and creates nothing.

Demographics you send (name, date of birth, contact) never overwrite the laboratory's patient record and never link records on their own.
