Introduction
What Solia Direct is, who it is for, and how the documentation is organized.

What Solia Direct is
Solia Direct is the operating and connectivity layer for diagnostic laboratories: one canonical Control Plane supports Partner API integrations, optional laboratory-branded DTC, and optional distribution through Solia On Demand—without replacing the LIS/LIMS.
One laboratory connection supports many diagnostic programs and channels. The same canonical order and result infrastructure serves Partner API integrations, optional laboratory-branded DTC, and optional distribution through Solia On Demand.
Core and the Control Plane own canonical laboratory state and operations. The Partner API is the versioned server-to-server surface. Standard DTC is the laboratory-owned consumer commerce presentation, and Solia On Demand is the optional discovery and distribution network. Neither consumer surface is a separate data system.
Laboratory operations and Partner API credentials are laboratory- and environment-scoped. Health Company views may combine only their authorized Programs across laboratories; linked patient access is separately authorized per laboratory and preserves its provenance.
Who these docs are for
- Laboratory operators and founders who run programs, catalog, orders and results day to day.
- Laboratory IT and LIS/LIMS teams connecting order and result interfaces.
- Partner engineering teams integrating the Partner API.
- Compliance and security reviewers assessing isolation, access and auditability.
Guides explain how the platform works and how to operate it. API Reference documents the exact request and response contracts the server enforces.
Engineering source and practical laboratory manuals
October 25 source engineering closeout adds versioned compendium, clinical equivalence, connector configuration and independent Program/network manuals. Native installed authority and real vendor/clinical sign-off are not established; selected CI is not Production or publication.
